Nine people. Nine brave hearts. Nine “YES” answers to God.
This year, nine international missionaries from Second Baptist Church stepped out in faith and traveled to Brazil for our 2026 Mission Trip.
They didn’t simply travel to another country.
They said YES to serving.
YES to sacrifice.
YES to leaving the familiar.
YES to hard work.
YES to learning and listening.
YES to sharing the love of Christ.
YES to being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Behind every photograph and every testimony are hours of preparation, prayer, travel, service, conversations, challenges, and work. They gave of their time, energy, resources, and hearts because they believed that God’s call was greater than their comfort. What a joy y’all bring to SBC.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’” — Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)
We are incredibly proud of these nine missionaries and grateful for their obedience.
But perhaps the greatest prayer isn’t simply that God would bless what they accomplished in Brazil.
It is that He would continue to cultivate YES in their hearts.
May there be many more years of faithful service.
Many more prayers.
Many more opportunities.
Many more people reached.
Many more places where the Gospel is proclaimed.
And many more YESes when the Lord calls.
And may their example challenge all of us:
What is God asking you to say YES to?
The mission doesn’t end when we return home. The mission continues wherever God sends us.

Seed, Water and Harvest
We are thankful for what God allowed us to witness during our 2026 mission trip to Brazil.
Our team traveled with one purpose in mind: to serve people, build relationships, and faithfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
During the trip, our team completed 114 home visits, prayed with families throughout the communities we served, and shared the Gospel personally with people who welcomed us into their homes and lives.
By God’s grace, 156 people prayed to receive Jesus Christ as Savior, and 7 people rededicated their lives to Him.
We praise God for every one of them.
Missions matter because the Gospel was never meant to remain inside the walls of a church. Jesus calls His people to go, to make disciples, and to tell others about the hope found in Him.
Sometimes going means traveling across the world. Sometimes it means walking across the street. In either place, the mission remains the same.
Every home we entered represented a family.
Every conversation represented a person with a story.
Every prayer was an opportunity to place someone before the Lord.
And every profession of faith reminds us why churches continue to pray, give, send, and go.
We are especially grateful for the pastors, churches, translators, volunteers, and ministry partners in Brazil who served beside us. Missions are never the work of one person or one church. God brings His people together, each serving faithfully in the place He has given them.
Thank you to everyone at Second Baptist Church who prayed for this mission, gave financially, donated resources, encouraged our team, and helped make the trip possible. Those who stayed and prayed were part of the mission just as surely as those who boarded the plane.
We returned home grateful, humbled, and reminded once again that the harvest is still plentiful.
There are still people who need to hear about Jesus.
There are still communities to serve.
There are still doors God is opening.
And we want to remain willing to go through them.
