At Second Baptist Church, we believe missions begin with obedience to Jesus.
We want to share the Gospel, serve people with compassion, and support the work God is doing here in Amarillo and around the world.
LOCAL MISSIONS
Amarillo is home, and we want to serve our community well.
Throughout the year, we support local ministries, help families in need, participate in outreach, collect food and supplies, and look for practical ways to care for people around us.
Sometimes that means meeting a physical need. Sometimes it means offering encouragement, prayer, or simply being present.
Our goal is to serve in a way that points people to Christ.
NATIONAL MISSIONS
We also support mission work across the United States through partnerships, special projects, outreach efforts, and ministries that serve communities in need.
We are thankful for the opportunity to work alongside other churches and organizations that are faithfully serving and sharing the Gospel.
INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
International missions have become an important part of our church.
In 2025, a team from Second Baptist Church traveled to Brazil to serve alongside local believers, visit homes, pray with families, and share the Gospel.
During that trip, 101 people prayed to receive Christ.
In 2026, we returned to Brazil and continued that work through home visits, outreach, prayer, and personal conversations about Jesus.
During the 2026 mission trip, 156 people prayed to receive Christ.
We give God all the glory for every person reached and every opportunity He gave us to share the Gospel.
These trips have also reminded us that missions are built through relationships. We are grateful for the churches, pastors, translators, volunteers, and families in Brazil who have welcomed us and served alongside us.
Be part of missions
You do not have to travel overseas to be involved in missions.
You can pray.
You can give.
You can help prepare supplies.
You can serve in local outreach.
You can support those who are going.
And when God opens the door, you can go.
If you have a heart for missions, outreach, or serving others, we would love for you to get involved.
LOVE. BUILD. REACH.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19 NKJV
