Where we place our treasure reveals what matters most to our hearts. It is easy to become focused on the things we can accumulate, protect, and hold onto in this life. Yet Jesus reminds us that earthly possessions are temporary, while the treasures we invest in Gods kingdom have eternal value.
In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches us to examine what we truly value. Earthly treasures can be damaged, taken away, or lost with time. Heavenly treasures are different. They are secure, lasting, and connected to the work God is doing in and through our lives.
This passage reveals the problem of earthly treasure, the priority of heavenly treasure, and the position of the hearts treasure. Stewardship is not only about what we possess. It is also about where we place our trust, our attention, and our deepest affection.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:21 NKJV
This message invites us to consider what our priorities reveal about our hearts. Are we living as owners of earthly things, or as faithful stewards of what God has entrusted to us? Are we investing our time, resources, and energy in what has eternal value?
