The Trust of Time | Ephesians 5:15–17 | March 29, 2026
Stewardship over Ownership Series
Sermon by Rev. Larry Davis | Second Baptist Church Amarillo, TX
Time is one of the most valuable gifts God has entrusted to us. We may carefully manage our finances, protect our possessions, and plan for the future, yet overlook the limited hours and days placed in our hands. Scripture reminds us that time is not ours to own. It is ours to steward faithfully.
In Ephesians 5, Paul calls believers to walk carefully and wisely. Because our time is limited and the days are evil, we must live with purpose. Faithful stewardship of time requires more than maintaining a full schedule. It means aligning our priorities, decisions, and daily habits with the will of the Lord.
This passage reveals the allotment of limited time, the awareness of evil days, and the importance of alignment with Gods will. When we understand that each day is a gift, we begin to ask a better question. Instead of asking how we can fit more into our lives, we begin to ask how we can use our time for what truly matters.
…redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:16 NKJV
This message invites us to examine how we are spending the time God has given us. Are our schedules shaped by urgency or by purpose? Are we making room for prayer, worship, family, service, and the work God has called us to do? Are we living wisely in a world filled with distractions?
Come ready to be encouraged and challenged as we learn how faithful stewardship of time can align our lives with Gods will and bring glory to Him.
